This month marks the 60th year of Gene Reichard's presence in Reichard Buick GMC. Starting at the bottom in 1949, when it was Shannon Buick, Gene's first job in the dealership was washing cars after school. He quickly moved into the position of lube technician. Continuing to work his way up the ladder, Gene held the positions of parts counterman, service writer and new car salesman general manager. In 1985 he had the opportunity to purchase the dealership from Bob and Gene Shannon, and from there he went on to expand the offerings to include Pontiac by buying Rogers Pontiac in 2004 and acquiring GMC from Moorman in 2008.
60 years in the dealership has not slowed him down. Gene still works 50 hours a week and will do whatever needs to be done including changing a set of license plates. Congratulations to Gene on 60 years in the dealership!
