Once again OADA is hosting our Annual Workers' Compensation & Safety Management Seminar series. This seminar represents your dealership's best opportunity to stay abreast of the changes and upcoming developments in Ohio's workers' compensation system. The seminar will cover proper claims management, alternative discount programs, prospective billing, the latest from BWC, and more!

Safety Training, A New Shift in Regulations, and the two hour safety training requirement

This portion of the seminar will cover new changes in regulations, recent OSHA/EPA violations, and minimum requirements to be in compliance. This will include:

• OSHA Top 5 Most Frequently Cited Violations
  • OSHA annually publishes a top 10 list of frequently cited items. KPA will run through the top 5 as it pertains to the NAICS code 4411 which is new and used automobile dealers. These are things you should really focus on.
• New Fall Protection Regulations
  • The new rules which went into effect in January will affect locations which have ladders, service pits, and employees who may have to get onto leading edge areas such as a vehicle roof.
• Anti-Retaliation and Reporting - Updates
  • These rules are going into effect this year and could possibly affect your reporting or your safety programs at your facility. No more 90 day accident free parties.
  • We will answer the question, "Do I need to report that on my OSHA 300 log?
• What really are the minimum requirements for OSHA, EPA, and DOT? I do care about safety and the environment - but at what cost?
  • Compliance can be difficult these days and sifting through the many emails from vendors can be difficult. Vendors can sometimes stretch the truth about what is compliance. KPA will share some common items where money can be saved and you can still be in compliance.

The Auto Dealers Guide to Workers' Compensation: Claims Process, Unemployment & Absence Management

What do you do when you have an injury that leads to a workers' comp claim at your dealership? When do you contact your Managed Care Organization (MCO) and Third Party Administrator (TPA) regarding a new claim? How is your workers' compensation premium affected by a claim? This year, our team at CareWorks and CareWorksComp will address these questions as well as provide an overview of the Dealer's and Third Party Administrator's role during the process of a claim. This will include necessary documentation, claims management process, and cost containment techniques. The panel will also discuss cost control strategies for absence management and unemployment services.

Registration fee for this seminar is $40 per person. Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:45 (all locations), with the seminar beginning at 8:15 and concluding at 12:30. The following locations have been scheduled:
