Mission Statement

The Ohio Mining & Mineral Education Program (OMMEP) was founded to:

• Provide public instruction and education on topics related to mining
  and the mineral aggregate industry
• Provide educators with accurate information regarding mining and minerals
• Provide educational scholarships for students interested in the fields relating to mining and the industrial minerals industry in Ohio
• Provide public awareness of Ohio’s mining and aggregate industry
• Provide safety and related training to groups and individuals engaged in mining and related operations in Ohio
