Important Updates and Reminders on June 30 'New Features' PNM Implementation

As reported last week in OAMES 6/27/24 ebulletin, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) implemented new features on June 30 in the new Ohio Medicaid Enterprise System (OMES) used in the Provider Network Management (PNM) module.

Be sure to review last week’s OAMES ebulletin with specific guidance for reporting any issues your company may be experiencing in the PNM system and other resources and information that’s available during this transition.

The key reminder is to utilize the ODM Integrated Helpdesk as the single source for reporting any PNM problems to streamline communications and resolutions between ODM, their vendors and the provider community.  You’re advised not to contact the Non-Institutional Policy team for any PNM-related issues; these issues MUST go through the IHD so that they can be identified, tracked and resolved at a central point of contact.

ODM’s Comprehensive Payment Systems Error (CPSE) report has been updated this week.  Several DME issues have been added based on OAMES meeting in May with ODM officials and on-going discussions.  This report is publicly available and includes the list of known issues (“defects”) to-date, and the status of their resolution.  Click here for the July report.

If you’ve reviewed the latest CPSE report and your issue(s) is not listed or you’re not sure, contact the ODM Integrated Helpdesk (IHD) at 800-686-1516 or via email at IHD@medicaid.ohio.gov to share it.  Issues reported through the IHD are documented, a ticket number assigned and tracked by ODM. IMPORTANT!  You MUST provide ICN number(s) for ODM to have the details they need to research and trouble-shoot your specific problem.

Feedback from OAMES members this week:  We heard from a few members on Monday and Tuesday that the system has been down intermittently and when they contacted ODM, they were told it was a “connectivity problem”.  There has been no formal communication between ODM and OAMES on this matter, but there is a banner posted on the Department’s PNM website indicating this is an issue and they are working to resolve “as quicky as possible”.

We’ve also heard from several members who are experiencing PA submission problems for custom wheelchairs for fee-for-service recipients in long term care facilities.  If you’re experiencing this issue or any others, please reach out to IHD via phone or email and report it.

There are three ways to track whether a reported issue has been resolved.  1) Check the monthly CPSE report (we recognize it’s only monthly but it’s the most comprehensive PNM tracking tool available); 2) Call or email the Helpdesk, OAMES has been told IHD representatives can provide updates on issue resolution status; and 3) Review your remittance notices carefully for updates.

OAMES will continue monitoring the PNM implementation and share any further guidance and developments from ODM via OAMES ebulletins in the days and weeks ahead.
