Ohio Department of Aging Announces Students Selected for 2024 Scholars in Aging Program

 

Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) Director Ursel J. McElroy announced today the 10 students from universities across Ohio who have been selected as Scholars in Aging participants for 2024.

“Scholars in Aging offers some of Ohio’s brightest young problem-solvers the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the field of aging and a valuable glimpse into a future career path that allows them to put their talents to use by helping others,” Director McElroy said. “This year’s cohort is made up of students with a diverse range of experiences and areas of study from universities across the state. I am excited to welcome them to the program and to tap into their energy, passion, and bold visions for the future of aging in Ohio.”

This year’s scholars, their institutions, and the degrees they are working toward are:

The Scholars in Aging program provides students of all academic backgrounds with the opportunity to learn about aging-related policymaking, establish professional contacts, and gain career knowledge and skills in the field of aging. Since 2013, a total of 149 scholars, representing about 20 Ohio colleges and universities, have participated in the program.
