AAHomecare Releases Updated DMEPOS Medicare Supplier Location Tracking Report
Ohio Has 46% Fewer Traditional Medicare Locations Since July 2013
The American Association for Homecare has updated their supplier location tracking sheet with CMS data from October 2024.
The analysis indicates a continued, steady decrease in the number of traditional Medicare DMEPOS supplier locations across the country.
Below is a summary of key statistics:
- In July 2013, there were a total of 12,898 traditional DMEPOS locations nationally.
- In January 2024, there were 8,005 traditional DMEPOS locations.
- In October 2024, there were 7,903 locations, a 1% decrease over the past year.
- Since the national implementation of DMEPOS Competitive Bidding (July 2013), there has been an overall decline of about 39% in the total number of supplier locations.
- For Ohio, there are 46.5% fewer supplier locations from July 2013 to October 2024. There were 527 in July 2013 and there are 282 today.
