Since October, 345,299 Ohioans have applied for Medicaid through the new Ohio Benefits eligibility system. The majority of these cases have been processed already. As a result, more than 180,000 Ohioans have been connected to Medicaid coverage, including 106,000 individuals who are "newly eligible" as a result of the decision to extend Medicaid coverage.
