Carrie Hamady

President

Carrie Hamady is a Distinguished Teacher Professor and Chair of the Department of Public and Allied Health as well as the Director of the Undergraduate Dietetics Program at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). She has an MS in Health Promotion and her EdD in Leadership Studies. Her interests are in clinical nutrition, sustainability, food insecurity, innovative teaching techniques and equity and inclusion in dietetics education, and informatics. Carrie has presented at national, state, and local conferences on a variety of topics including sports nutrition, innovative teaching techniques, DEI in dietetics education, informatics, and clinical nutrition. She won the award for best innovation in dietetics education at FNCE (2014 and 2021), the 2018 Ohio, North Central Region of NDEP Outstanding Dietetic Educator Award in the DPD Program category, the 2020 BGSU Mentoring Excellence Award, and the 2021 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success. Carrie was also an Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Recognized Dietitian of the Year in 2021. She is the President for the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the 2023-2024 FY. Carrie lives in northwest Ohio with her husband and has three kids. They enjoy camping and hiking.
