Ohio Vision Professionals Board Requesting Input from Stakeholders

A message from President John Bruening

Dear $$First Name$$,

I wanted to talk to you about the recent email from the Ohio Vision Professionals Board (VPB) asking for input from stakeholders. As an Ohio optician, you are a stakeholder in the matters of the VPB, and your opinion matters.

The VPB is mandated to send out notices to stakeholders whenever there are proposed changes to the rules/laws which govern our profession. This is simply another notice of the proposed changes and is a form of legislative housekeeping.

If you are a member of the Opticians Association of Ohio (OAO), please rest assured that your voice has been heard, and we have been working diligently to address the concerns of our members, working both with the VPB and the Rules Change Committee. If you attended the recent OAO Town Hall meeting, you are familiar with the recent changes, as many questions were answered in that forum.

Members of the OAO do not need to respond to the request for input, as the OAO is comfortable with the recent compromises made and believes that the immediate future of opticianry in Ohio is secure. If you are not a member of the OAO but would like to be more informed and have a voice in your profession, go to OAO.org to join. Without the OAO, licensed opticianry does not exist.

Many thanks to all OAO members!

Most Sincerely,

John Bruening, President

Opticians Association of Ohio
