The Baldwin Wallace PA Program started eleven years ago, and has continued to grow throughout the years. The program is in a period of big changes, as Dr. Gersten, medical director and one of the original founders of the program, is entering into his much deserved retirement.
We have several new faculty members and a new medical director starting, and are looking forward to learning from them! Thirty three students graduated two weeks ago and are preparing to take the PANCE, maintain the program’s 99% pass rate, and become PA-Cs, and many have already accepted jobs. Thirty three students received their white coats last week, and are getting ready to start their first clinical rotation in June, at hospital systems such as Cleveland Clinic, Summa, Metro, and University Hospitals. Thirty five new students started their didactic year this week and are preparing for the next twenty four months of learning.
For many years, the program has had a close relationship with the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio, and has collaborated with them on many activities, including an event at Szalay’s Farms and enrichment activities, and members of the organization provided a lecture to the students last month. As the entering class takes over the executive board, we are excited to see what kind of events they plan!
