We want to make OAPA members aware of two critical deadlines at the federal level that impact PA programs, faculty, and students.
January 19 is the expiration date for National Health Service Corps scholarship and loan repayment program funding, which provides financial support to PA students in exchange for service. The PA Education Association (PAEA) has been advocating for an extension of this program, and you can add your support by contacting your members of Congress.
Early February is the deadline to extend funding for HRSA’s Title VII health workforce development programs, which are critical to supporting and expanding access to PA education. PAEA also offers an opportunity to voice your thoughts on this important matter.
Thank you for staying aware and active in legislative matters, including at the federal level.
Remember that your membership dollars allow OAPA to advocate and advance our profession at the state level to ensure we are practicing at the top of our license. Find out more about OAPA's current state legislative priorities and consider supporting the OAPA Legislative Fund today!
