University of Toledo's Annabelle Yingling, PA-S, and Anna Zeitzheim, PA-S, earn a "Be The Change" Grant

OAPA is proud to recognize University of Toledo PA students Annabelle Yingling, PA-S, and Anna Zeitzheim, PA-S, along with Paul Chandler, PA-C, for recently winning a Be The Change Grant from the nccPA Health Foundation!
According to their mission, "the nccPA Health Foundation equips and empowers Certified PAs and PA students to improve health through grant programs and initiatives that foster the quality and accessibility of health care." The nccPA Health Foundation's Be The Change grant program supports PAs and PA students who design and execute activities that expand access to health promotion, education, and treatment as strategies for fostering more equitable care.
The winning project is entitled "STI Support for Toledo" and is in partnership with the Community of Hope Free Health Clinic in Toledo, Ohio. Through this grant, the team is expanding access in a medically-underserved area to STI testing and connecting community members to treatment. With the clinic’s expanded capacity, PA students will have additional opportunities to learn about test administration, counseling techniques, and follow-up for positive screens.
When asked about the achievement, the winning team stated “The CHFHC is an organization that works to ensure all patients receive high-quality healthcare services. Providing STI care is essential to improving the health of the Toledo community. It is an amazing opportunity as students to be able to play a role in contributing to this project and the CHFHC mission.”
Congratulations to Annabelle, Anna, and Paul, for positively impacting the community and being recognized for the effort with a Be The Change grant!
