NCTA Seeks Vanguard Nominees

Annual Awards Program is Cable Industry's Highest Honor

Award Ceremonies Will Highlight Tuesday Evening Program at The Cable Show '07
WASHINGTON, D.C. The National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) today issued its request for nominations for the 2007 Vanguard Awards, the cable industry's highest honors.

The Vanguard Awards will be presented the evening of Tuesday, May 8, 2007, during The Cable Show '07, NCTA's 56th Annual Convention and International Exposition, May 7-9 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Nominations for the Vanguard Awards are due to NCTA on or before Friday, February 23, 2007. Nomination forms are available at The Cable Show's website.

"Each year, the Vanguard Awards honor the cable industry's top innovators and achievers in several professional categories," said Kyle McSlarrow, President & CEO, NCTA. "The Vanguard honorees are the leaders who are driving our industry forward and shaping telecommunications for the future. We look forward to honoring another exceptional group this year."

Inaugurated in 1965, the Vanguard Awards are presented annually to individuals who excel in business, personal commitment to excellence, and whose accomplishments merit the recognition of the entire cable industry. Award winners are honored in the following categories:

Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership (Man)
Distinguished Vanguard Award for Leadership (Woman)
Vanguard Award for Young Leadership
Vanguard Award for Programmers
Vanguard Award for Associates and Affiliates
Vanguard Award for Science and Technology
Vanguard Award for Cable Operations Management
Vanguard Award for Government and Community Relations
Vanguard Award for Marketing
Award candidates may be nominated by representatives of NCTA member companies, and winners are selected by an Awards Committee composed of several members of the NCTA Board of Directors as well as former Award winners.
