Study: 14% of Broadband Homes Don't Have Pay TV

The number of broadband homes without traditional pay-TV service has risen from 9% in 2011 to 14% this year -- meaning about 13 million homes, The Diffusion Group reports. That represents "an excellent opportunity for new video purveyors, whether pure-play online ventures like Netflix or the growing list of television networks going direct-to-consumer," said Michael Greeson, president of TDG.
