The City of Huber Heights, Ohio, located just minutes from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in close proximity of the Dayton International Airport and the I-75/I-70 “Crossroads of America” interchange with a population of 43,439, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.
The City of Huber Heights is a progressive Fire Division that is comprised of 61 career Firefighter/Paramedics running out of three stations serving the community utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and procedures. The City is conducting oral interviews to establish an eligibility list to fill immediate openings for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.
Prior to appointment, the candidate must submit to an extensive background investigation, truth verification test, drug screen, physical ability test, physical and psychological examination. The approximate date for interviews will be the week beginning March 10, 2025, at Fire Division Headquarters, 7008 Brandt Pike. Individuals will be ranked based on their interview scores.
Minimum Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or GED equivalent; possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License; must possess an Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certificates or possess either certificate and/or are currently enrolled in a training program to complete the Level II and/or Paramedic certification. Applicants must possess both Ohio Level II Firefighter and Paramedic certifications at time of appointment. Candidates may be eligible for the newly created full-time Firefighter/Paramedic Recruit position.
The 2025 salary range (including holiday pay and equipment allowance) is $62,513.68 to $91,780.88 with a five-step pay process. Starting salary may be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include, but are not limited to, an annual holiday bonus of 96 hours, 10 EDO’s, 36 hours personal leave, sick leave accrual, and vacation accrual (up to 15 days based on previous full-time public service credit), employer paid life insurance, and excellent health insurance benefits to include 100% employer paid medical insurance premium and generous contributions to HSA or HRA.
