Mount Carmel East change in release

February 24, 2015

Dear Funeral Directors & Livery Staff:

I am writing to notify you of a change that we are making with regard to the release of Mount Carmel East Hospital deceased patients. As of February 24, 2015 our personnel who will be releasing patients from our hospital morgue will not be our Supply and Distribution staff. Instead, our Security, Nursing Supervisors and/or Chaplains will be responsible for this task.

We will continue to be releasing the patients through our Emergency Department Squad/Ambulance Bay entrance and the morgue.  This location will also continue to serve for the occasional release from the patient room as well.  Please note the following change to procedure: the funeral home representative should wait at this location until the hospital staff arrives to escort them further.

Below you will find the directions necessary for entering the building at all times and contacting the Safety & Security staff.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Rev. Paul E. Helwig, M. Div., BCC
