Wife of Ted Chapman, former owner of the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home

Helen Roberta Chapman, 92, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. She was born May 1, 1922 in Clark County, Ohio the daughter of the late Earl & Ruth (Roberts) Shroyer. She volunteered more than 5000 hours at Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ted Chapman; a son, Jerry Chapman; daughter, Lou Anne Wray; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Dale Shroyer of Springfield, Ralph & Carol Shroyer of West Milton, Roy & Jane Shroyer of Urbana; sisters, Bertha & John Parker of Florida, Clara Och of Troy, Frances & John Sehon of Texas; sister-in-law, Twila Shroyer of Troy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Steven Chapman in 1995; siblings, Esther & Sam Hinkle; Lloyd Shroyer; sister-in-law, Florence Shroyer. A visitation will be 11-1 PM Wednesday in the auditorium at the Masonic Home. A gathering of family and friends will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, New Carlisle with Rev. Jeff Burdsall & Pastor Evan Garber officiating. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Miami Valley, 1948 N. Limestone St., Springfield, Ohio 45503, First United Methodist Church, 220 S. Main St., New Carlisle, OH 45344, or the charity of your choice.
