There is Help and There is Hope

Tony Coder
Executive Director
Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation (OSPF)

Survivors of suicide loss are at high risk for suicidal thoughts or completed suicide. Helping families through the loss of a loved one to suicide can be one of the biggest ways to prevent suicides of the bereaved.

Mr. Coder will expound on a recent article written for the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, found in the Spring 2022 Edition of The Buckeye Director, discussing a new valuable resource.

The Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation recently worked with an expert in the field to create a booklet for funeral professionals on providing guidance and resources to help navigate the loss of someone to suicide and the unique challenges that this type of loss carries.

In addition to the booklet, Tony will also expand on resources and tools for funeral homes and funeral professionals to utilize when assisting families during their initial grief and the continued healing process as well as on how to best talk with loss survivors during their initial shock and pain.
