The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Bureau of Vital Statistics (VS) has announced that a vendor has been selected to replace Ohio’s current birth and death registration systems – the Integrated Perinatal Health Information System (IPHIS) and the Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS).
ODH announced in March 2023 a Request for Proposal (RFP) to replace IPHIS and EDRS, and scored four vendors who submitted proposals. LexisNexis has been selected as the state’s new vital records vendor. Based on feedback from stakeholder meetings held prior to developing the RFP, ODH VS has elected to replace IPHIS and EDRS at the same time, with a projected go-live date for the replacement system of January 1, 2025.
