Sharon Darlene (Demler) Lemke, age 79, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024, after suffering from a stroke and complications from acute renal failure.
Sharon was born July 9, 1944, in Chicago, IL to the Reverend Henry Demler and Ann Demler. Sharon was a deeply spiritual woman who studied the word of God daily and often shared God’s love with others. Sharon was a loving mother and a loving and devoted wife. She was an active participant in Bible studies and regularly attended church services. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be remembered every day by those left behind.
Sharon was an avid lover of music, particularly the classical music of Bach and Beethoven. She played the piano and the organ at New York Avenue Congregational Church in Hastings, Nebraska, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Woodbridge, Virginia, and Chapel Services at Weaver’s Needle RV Resort in Apache Junction, AZ. Friends might be surprised to learn that she attended Woodstock and held a particular fondness for Irish drinking songs even though she rarely drank.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Henry Demler, and her brother James Demler. Sharon is survived by her husband George, her son Michael and daughter-in-law Dana, two grandsons Nathan and Matthew, and nephews and nieces.
Sharon’s Memorial Service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85205 on Friday, February 24 at 11 a.m. Memorials may be sent to Victory Lutheran Church in her name.
