Marilyn K. Walker, 78, of Sylvania Township, died Friday, May 17, 2024 at her home. Marilyn was born June 22, 1945 to Alvin Krueger and Zelda Lydy. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended the University of Toledo. Marilyn married the love of her life, Gary Walker, in 1966 and welcomed the first of her two children in 1967. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Marilyn and Gary grew up at Devil’s Lake, both having family cottages. They decided to buy a place of their own so they could enjoy the lake life with their kids and friends. Their cottage was always filled with family, friends, great times and laughter. They eventually left Devil’s Lake for the Great Lakes, where they enjoy boating and spending time on the islands with their many friends from the Toledo Yacht Club and the Crew’s Nest at Put-in-Bay. Marilyn had a summer soul and cherished her summers on the water and the many memories made there. Marilyn and Gary also enjoyed traveling and visited many Caribbean destinations as well as Alaska and Hawaii. She liked puzzles, reading, a good thunderstorm, and politics. She was a history buff and a true patriot. She adored cats- saving countless strays over the years and providing a loving home to many. She was active in charity organizations including the Toledo Women’s Club, Junior League of Toledo, and the Ability Center. Marilyn was a former member of First Congregational Church where she also volunteered. She was active at her children’s schools and activities and loved cheering on her grandchildren in their sporting events.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, and her parents. She is survived by her children, Keith Walker (Katy) and Kristen Crandall (Matt); grandchildren, Maizy and David Crandall and Henry, Teddy, Louie and Charlie Walker; sister, Amy Krueger; many dear friends and her cats, Prince and Sadie.

Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
