Robert "Bob" R. Watt, 77, passed away on May 20, 2024, at 11:51 p.m. at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born September 24, 1946 in Lima, OH to James "Jim" Watt and Leona "Tillie" (Radebaugh) Watt who both preceded him in death. On July 23, 1966 he married Roberta "Bobbie" (Kerr) Watt who survives in Cridersville, OH.
Bob graduated from Bath High School in 1964. He also attended Northwestern Business College. Bob served four years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He started his career for Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Lima in 1981, he had an infectious smile and was a great coworker to all that he worked with. Bob was very knowledgeable with anything that had a printer. Bob enjoyed a forty-three year career as a Senior funeral service associate and loved his Chiles-Laman family, hoping to retire at the end of this year. He was a life member of the Lima VFW Post 1275 and American Legion Post 330. Bob and his family attended Lima Community Church. Bob loved his wife Bobbie and cherished his children and grandchildren dearly. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. Bob always enjoyed going on his cruises, various vacations and camping with his wife and family. He will be missed by all that knew him, he was such a great man and always looked at the good in all. Bob was so appreciated by his Chiles-Laman family for his time, dedication and sacrifices made towards the Lima community.
Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" L. Watt of Lima; son, Shawn (Michelle) Watt of Wapakoneta, OH; son-in-law, Mike Schulte of Wapakoneta; and grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, Alyssa, Aryka, Alyson and Tyler (Brooke).
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole S. Schulte.
Bob's services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Brad Taylor officiate the service. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps and Lima Post 1275.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Shawnee Chapel.
