Judith A. Spaulding 79, died peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Atrium Medical Center after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on June 27, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Judy graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio and taught school in Cincinnati before moving to Middletown and making a career change to a licensed funeral director at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home with her husband. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering in the church's food pantry and participated in several service organizations in the area including serving as Past President of the 4th District of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and Past President of Soroptimist International of Middletown. Judy loved to read, cook, bake, make candy and spend time gardening.
Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years Ron Spaulding, children Jenny Spaulding and Mark (Kelley) Spaulding, granddaughters Kimber and Kennedy Spaulding, brother Jim (Joan) Holthaus, sister Jeanette (Ken) Battle, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Merial and Don Miller and countless other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her biological father Clayton Schnecker who died before her birth, her mother Carolyn (Fenton) Holthaus, and her adoptive father who raised her, Paul Holthaus.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, OH 45044.
Funeral Service will be private for the family with Reverend Kim Armentrout and Father John Civille officiating.
Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum.
