President's Message
Greetings ORWAC Members,
I am excited to serve as your President for the next two years. My vision for ORWAC is to expand our membership beyond the West Coast. I’d like to see an increase in members from regions all over the nation, which will also diversify our scholarship, particularly as it relates to our presentations at the Western States Communication Association (WSCA) Convention in Salt Lake City next year.
ORWAC’s Call for Papers and Panels is included in this newsletter. I strongly encourage you to apply. The submission deadline is September 1st, so now is a good time to refine your submissions! If you have any questions about the submission process, please email me at mngoins@csufresno.edu.
I would like to thank Dr. Katie Gibson, ORWAC’s Past President, for her leadership of our organization and her mentorship to me. I want to thank Dr. Valerie Renegar, our former Treasurer, as well. Dr. Renegar’s attention to detail, approachability, and commitment to ORWAC were quite instrumental when I first joined the organization and I hope I am able to be just as welcoming. I’d also like to welcome our new officers: Dr. Leslie Harris, Vice-President, Dr. Alyssa Samek, Treasurer, and Jyleesa Hampton, Student Representative.
