Guest Service Gold One-Day Workshop - OHLA received notice in the spring that the AHLEI Guest Service Gold program has been added to the state’s list of industry-recognized credentials. Credentials on the approved list can be completed by high school students to help fulfill requirements for graduation. Beginning this school year, the Guest Service Gold program is worth one point in the Business, Hospitality and Tourism career field. OHLA is currently working with interested high schools to host a one-day workshop at their school, where students will earn the credential and participate in other engaging activities related to careers in the hotel industry.
Volunteers needed for Student Education Day at Annual Conference! Ohio high school and college and university students studying hospitality management have been invited to join us at the OHLA annual conference for student specific sessions the morning of Monday, November 24 prior to the conference kickoff session. Student sessions will include an interview skills and resume development session, Easton scavenger hunt, and a hands-on problem-solving session. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of these sessions, please reach out to Amanda at amanda@ohla.org.
