Doug Miller - 2006

Doug Miller has been the head baseball coach at Canton Central Catholic High School for the past 24 years. His record stands at 441 186. The Crusaders have had seven 20 win seasons and a 30 win season in 2003 when the team set a Stark County record with 32 victories. Coach Miller's teams have been to the regional's five times and were Division II. State runner-up in 1997 and 2003. The team has had several top 20 poll finishes and has reached the districts 14 times including the past 12 seasons. Coach Miller received Stark County Coach of the Year honors in 1997 and 2000 and coached in the Mizuno All-Ohio Series in 1988, 1997, and 2002. He also coached in the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All- Star game at Jacobs Field in 2001. Coach Miller has coached 13 All- Ohioans and 16 Academic All-Ohioans.

Doug Miller has been a poll voter with The OHSBCA since its inception. He has been the game director for the Dumonts All-Star Classic for senior baseball players from Division II, III, and IV school's in the Stark County area for 16 years. He has worked the Omar Vizquel summer baseball camp in Canton for several years. Doug played collegiately at Kent State Stark and Malone College. He played in the Canton Class A Baseball League for 13 years and was elected to the Stark County Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986.

In addition to coaching baseball, Coach Miller coached girls basketball for 9 years and boys basketball for 13 years. His 1981 girls basketball team was Class AA state runnerup. He is currently serves as an assistant football coach at Central Catholic. He is a Sociology teacher and assistant athletic director at the school. Coach Miller graduated from Canton Lincoln High School and Malone College and received his Masters Degree from Ashland University.
