Dan Bowling has been the head baseball coach at Hamilton High School for the past nineteen years. Bowling's won-lost record at Hamilton is 478-119. His teams have won thirteen league titles, twelve sectional titles, five district titles, four regional titles, and two state championships in 1983 and 1997. Bowling's teams have advanced to the state big school Final Four in three of the last five seasons. In addition to the league and tournament titles, Bowling's teams have won five Cincinnati City Championships and have been named OHSBCA Poll Champion on one occasion. His teams have been ranked nationally on six occasions. In 1997 they finished as the National runner-up in USA today. They were also the Collegiate Baseball National runner-up in 1983.

Coach Bowling has also been named the Division I Coach of the Year in Ohio on two occasions. He has been named Greater Miami conference Coach of the Year Twelve times and Cincinnati Enquirer Division I Coach of the Year on five occasions.

Bowling has coached three Gatorade Ohio Players of the Year. In 1988, one of his players, Mark Lewis, was named the National Player of the Year. Thirteen of his players have been drafted professionally. Four are still active in professional baseball. Lewis was the number one pick of the Cleveland Indians in 1988.

Coach Bowling has been a teacher in the Hamilton City Schools for 29 years. He received his under graduate and masters degree in education from Miami University. He has two children, Damon, age 28 and Darcie, age 23.
