Coach Tom Schreck has been a life-long resident of Crawford County, graduating from Wynford High School in 1968.  While at Wynford, he participated in football, basketball, and baseball and received nine varsity letters and several conference honors.  After high school, he attended Taylor University in Indiana and played both football and baseball.  In baseball, he lettered all four years and was captain for two years.  Mr. Schreck achieved several conference honors and played on three Hoosier-Buckeye Conference Championship teams. 

Mr. Schreck is currently retired and has been married to his best friend, Candy, for thirty-seven years.  Tom and Candy have been blessed with two children, Tobey and Tara.  Tobey Schreck is the junior high principal and varsity baseball coach at Ironton; he is the father of three children.  Dr. Tara Schreck lives in Columbus and works as a clinical pharmacist for Riverside Methodist Hospital; she is the mother of one child. 

Upon graduating with a B.S. in Social Studies, Mr. Schreck was initially employed by Wynford Local Schools.  This employment began as a temporary job that turned into a thirty-five year career.  A Masters Degree in Administration was earned from Xavier University, Cincinnati.  Mr. Schreck thoroughly enjoyed teaching social studies on both the high school and junior high school level; he also held the junior high school principal position for two years. 

While at Wynford, Coach Schreck coached football for twenty seasons and freshman basketball for sixteen years.  Mr. Schreck coached baseball for thirty-four seasons.  The first years, he coached Junior Varsity and also coached Legion baseball during the summer.  The next twenty-six years, he could be found on the baseball field as the Head Coach for the Royals.  After stepping down as Head Coach, he had the privilege of holding the Assistant Varsity Coach position for six years.
