Description of Duties:
• Responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and ensuring in-home child care provider facilities comply with state and local licensing regulations.
• Assist providers with all aspects of the licensing process.
• Conduct on-site inspections of in-home providers to assess compliance with licensing requirements.
• Investigate complaints or reports of non-compliance, abuse, or neglect in child care settings. Frequent travel to child care facilities.
• Occasional evening and weekend hours for provider inspections.
• Provide technical assistance and support to all in-home child care providers.
• Provide training, resources, and information on licensing requirements, improving operations, resolving compliance issues, and best practices.
• Responsible for documentation and reporting in State and local child care systems. Maintain accurate records of inspections, complaints, investigations, and communications with providers.
• Collaborate with other community agencies to support child care quality and safety. Required to obtain child care licensing specialist certification.
• Determines eligibility for clients applying for child care services, including information gathering, documentation of income and resources.
• Completes necessary paperwork and data entry on client caseload and child care providers for effective case management.
• Maintains ongoing case load of active clients. Completes required reports.
• Determines eligibility for Title XX, PRC (Prevention, Retention and Contingency), and other Social Service programs. Completes client budget of household expenses. Contacts third party (e.g. landlord, car dealer, utility company, etc.) to confirm plan of assistance. Arranges for needed services.
• Completes data entry and arranges for services as needed.
• Maintains accurate records. Completes needed correspondence and documentation.
• Assists with Information and Referral (I & R) through initial interview or telephone conversations. Assesses client’s needs and makes appropriate referrals to other social service agencies in the community.
• Attends meeting and training sessions at the State and local levels to learn new methods, regulations and policies.
• May do public speaking to external partners regarding child care and/or other social services.
• Other duties as assigned, (e.g. filing, correspondence, attends trainings and meetings, does public speaking to inform public of services, assists other employees, assists in training interns, etc.)
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
Salary and Benefits:
• Starting pay is $22.25 per hour
• $22.75 per hour with completed Associate Degree
• $23.25 per hour with completed Bachelor’s Degree
• Up to $0.75 per hour increase after passing probation
• Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week) 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Candidate must have undergraduate major core coursework in behavioral science, social science, business or education, one course or six months experience in interviewing techniques, and one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding, or word processing Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
