Adam Engel

Board Member

Mr. Adam Engel received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and Oklahoma Association for Justice.

In 2021, Adam Engel was selected by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star - an award given to only 2.5% of the attorneys under the age of 40.

Adam's sole legal practice area is representing policyholders against their insurance companies for denied or underpaid claims. Mr. Engel has litigated bad faith cases for residential homeowners and commercial business owners against insurance companies in state and federal courts across Oklahoma. These cases range from small residential roof claims to multi-million-dollar commercial property claims. His cases frequently center on issues involving construction science, forensic engineering, and construction estimating. Mr. Engel believes in continually improving his skillsets by taking insurance agent, contractor, and adjuster education courses - including Xactimate Certification. He attributes his success to the experienced mentors at the firm, supportive paralegals, and professional experts with whom he daily works.

Adam has been with Mansell Engel & Cole for a decade, and for most of that time, his practice has been 100% dedicated to first-party property and casualty claims. The cases he litigates focus not just on denied insurance claims, but rather on insurance claims denials where the insurance company has failed its obligation of good faith and fair dealing to policyholders. Many of these claims are wind and hailstorms in Oklahoma. During his time with Mansell Engel & Cole, he has physically inspected hundreds of properties and roofing systems. During the litigation of these cases, he has deposed countless insurance adjusters, claims supervisors, and insurance company claim vice presidents, as well as dozens of forensic engineers. Through litigation, he has reviewed hundreds of thousands of pages of training materials and insurance company claims guidelines for most major insurance carriers.
