Lobby Day Administrative Coordinator
Adoption Network Cleveland
This position is project-based and pays a one-time stipend of $500.
Lobby Day is an impactful annual event hosted by Adoption Network Cleveland (ANC). Volunteer teams meet with legislators and staff in the Ohio House and Senate to discuss issues of interest and deliver materials and candy to all offices.
Lobby Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024. The Administrative Coordinator begins work in mid-March to coordinate volunteers, facilitate the scheduling of Lobby Day meetings at the Ohio Statehouse, and maintain the central Google Drive for the event. This position is estimated to require 2-3 hours a week most weeks between March 15 and May 8, with more hours required the week before and week of Lobby Day.
The Lobby Day Administrative Coordinator:
- Works closely with ANC executive director and lobbyists to create and implement a successful Lobby Day
- Creates and maintains a Google Drive for use by the full team (staff, volunteers, lobbyists)
- Creates and monitors team lists in a spreadsheet
- Surveys and communicates with volunteers, giving them what they need to be successful
- Assigns tasks to volunteers and monitors progress, following up as needed, helping to hold volunteers accountable
- Tracks progress and ensures that appointments are made for each team
- Attends volunteer training
- Serves as point-person and logistics coordinator during Lobby Day
Skills needed:
- Close attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Competency with Google Drive, Google Docs and MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with Ohio legislature is a plus
