Columbus, OH - The Ohio Lobbying Association Foundation is proud to announce that three outstanding students studying public policy have been awarded academic scholarships. The recipients of this year's scholarships are Julia Rizzo, Kennedy Aikey, and Emma Robinson.
Julia Rizzo, a student at The Ohio State University, is majoring in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy. With an impressive background in public service, Rizzo has previously served as a page in the Ohio Senate and interned with Franklin County Commissioner Kevin Boyce.
Emma Robinson, a student majoring in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy at The Ohio State University, is among the recipients. Her dedication to public service is demonstrated through her previous experience as a page in the Ohio Senate, working alongside Senator Theresa Gavarone. Emma is particularly passionate about combating human trafficking, and she hopes to contribute to ending this practice through her studies and future career.
Kennedy Aikey, a student at Ohio Northern University, is majoring in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Aikey's dedication to understanding the intricate workings of the political system has made her a standout candidate for this scholarship. Her intern experience includes the Lima City Prosecutor’s Office and the Ohio Northern University Legal Aid Clinic.
"These exceptional students have demonstrated a strong commitment to public policy, and we're thrilled to present three scholarships this year, for the first time," said Melissa Wheeler, Scholarship Chair. "The tremendous support our members provide the OLA Foundation has allowed us to award more students with financial support for their academic pursuits."
The Ohio Lobbying Association Foundation is dedicated to supporting the next generation of leaders in public policy. By awarding academic scholarships, the Foundation aims to empower students who are passionate about making a difference in the field.
"We believe in the power of education and its ability to drive positive change," said Wheeler. "Through these scholarships, we hope to inspire students to continue their studies and pursue careers that will impact public policy in Ohio."
