OOA Installs New President

Family Physician from Piketon to Lead the State Association

(May 2017) Sean D. Stiltner, DO, of Piketon, was installed as 2017-2018 president of the OOA at a luncheon, April 21, during the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium. He is the organization’s 111th president.

Stiltner has served as a medic in the US Air Force and as a state aviation medical officer in the Ohio Army National Guard. He was deployed three times: Iraq Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007), Kuwait Operation New Dawn (2010), and Afghanistan Operation Enduring Freedom (2013). Recently he retired after 26 years of military service.

A family physician, he is chief medical officer at Valley View Health Centers, a federally qualified health center in Waverly. He also serves the emergency department at Premier Health Care/Pike Community Hospital. Previously, he was in private practice and worked with National Church Residences, providing long-term family care and nursing home care.

Stiltner is a 2004 graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM). He completed his internship and family medicine residency at Southern Ohio Medical Center. His undergraduate degree is from Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.

He is the ninth OU-HCOM graduate to become OOA president.
