Medical Board to Consider Three Conditions for MedMarThe State Medical Board of Ohio will consider adding anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, and cachexia as qualifying conditions for Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program. Written public comment on these conditions will be accepted through March 1 at MedicalMarijuana@med.ohio.gov. The process calls for subject matter experts to review the conditions. These experts may include physicians who specialize in the named conditions, or individuals who have experience with medical marijuana programs in other states. The Board’s Medical Marijuana Committee then reviews the experts’ reports, and makes a recommendation to the full board for a vote to adopt/deny the petition to add the qualifying conditions. That full board vote is expected this summer. The board received 27 petitions during the November 1-December 31, 2019, petition process. The next condition petition window will be November 1–December 31, 2020. |

Shape the Future, Allow a Shadow!Get the next osteopathic generation off to a great start by allowing interested undergraduates to shadow you. Many colleges of osteopathic medicine require prospective students to get to know a DO and request a letter of recommendation as part of the application process. These students often contact the OOA to find an osteopathic physician to shadow. To volunteer and add your name to the roster, complete the online form. |
