The Ohio Coalition of Primary Care Physicians, in collaboration with the Ohio Professionals Health Program (OhioPHP), will host a webinar about recent changes made by the State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO) regarding impairment modernization, including a new Confidential Monitoring Program. The free training is Thursday, November 9, at 7:00 pm.
The SMBO developed the program in partnership with OhioPHP for all licensees and applicants. It is a confidential path for individuals to seek help for burnout, mental health, substance use disorders, and a therapeutic alternative to regulatory awareness. OhioPHP is a nonprofit organization that provides confidential and compassionate support for health care professionals with illnesses that may impact their health and well-being.
The session will:
Provide an overview of chronic stress, burnout, mental health, and substance use disorders;
Introduce the new Confidential Monitoring Program, including eligibility requirements;
Review the “Duty to Report” requirements regarding impairment and;
Recognize how OhioPHP’s monitoring program can provide additional support for licensed health care professionals.
