Would you like to play an important role in supporting Physician Assistant policy in Ohio? The Ohio State Medical Board’s Physician Assistant Policy Committee is seeking a DO representative, and OOA has the privilege of recommending candidates.
This committee provides input to the Medical Board on matters related to physician assistants and the physicians who supervise them, including PA scope of practice and policies for physician-delegated prescriptive authority. Created by R.C. 4730.05, the position is a two-year term, and members may be reappointed.
Applicants are recommended to be a supervising physician of a physician assistant, preferably with at least two years' experience as a supervising physician.
The committee meets as needed (typically quarterly) either in person or virtually, typically for one to two hours. Members are reimbursed for mileage incurred while performing official duties (travel to and from Columbus attending meetings in-person).
