1. OPA's 2015 Conference has gone Mobile!!

To better utilize the app's features, PLEASE use your mobile device to Download the  2015 OPA Guidebook app BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE CONFERENCE**:

After accessing the OPA link, select the "Download Guide" link in the upper right corner of the page
You will then have the schedule, exhibitors, presentations, evaluation links and more, will all be at your fingertips. In an effort to go green, continuing education presentations will be available on the app for you to access and view via your mobile device. The app also features maps, social media, and local restaurant info! Download the app now to start a to-do list, and to get excited about the Annual Conference!

2. Dinner in the City Details 

IF you are registered for Friday's Dinner in the City event, please note:
Details for Friday night’s Dinner in the City reservations will be included when you pick up your name badge from the registration desk. There will be a neon green tag specifying the name, location and time of your restaurant reservation on your registration envelope. This event is being held off Convention Center property and will require registered participants to walk to the venue. Please check the weather forecast and plan accordingly.


3. OPA Conference offers Two Breakfast Theatres

Friday April 17 at 7 a.m. in Room C220
Pneumococcal Pneumonia and Invasive Disease in Adults 50 and Older: Learn about prevention options for patients in your community pharmacy. Space is limited so the first 100 attendees to arrive will enjoy an OPA-sponsored breakfast and be able to participate in the Theatre. There is no continuing pharmacy education for attendance at this Theatre.

Saturday April 18 at 7 a.m. in Room C123
Protect Your Pharmacy from a Data Breach: Learn why your pharmacy is at twice the risk of a data breach as a traditional retailer and how to protect your business’ sensitive credit card and patient data from being hacked. Space is limited and registration is open until Sunday April 12 at the theatre’s webpage by using this link - http://ww2.anx.com/OPA.  There is no continuing pharmacy education for attendance at this Theatre.


4. Trade Show Preview

The Trade Show, held Friday and Saturday, offers chances to win prizes at booths and at the BIG prize drawing. On Saturday, the exhibit hall is the place to enjoy lunch, network and greet friends. Some 2015 prizes may include an iPad Air, Pharmacy Prints and more. Take a sneak peek at the products, services and companies coming to the OPA Trade Show - 2015 OPA Exhibitors and Prize Donors


5. PAC Breakfast Speaker Announced!

The Ohio Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce that Representative Tim Brown (R-Bowling Green) will be our special guest speaker at the 2015 PAC Breakfast!

Join us Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 7:15 AM at the OPA Annual Conference & Trade Show at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Minimum contribution for the PAC Breakfast is $100/person, with all proceeds going to the OPA Pharmacy PAC, which provides campaign funds to candidates who support pharmacist initiatives. Checks should be made payable to “OPA Pharmacy PAC.” No corporate checks please.

6. New Practitioner Experience (NPX)

Did you graduate from pharmacy school within the last 7 years? Then the OPA Annual Conference is here to enhance your New Practitioner eXperience (NPX)! The vision of NPX is to be the launch pad for new practitioners to achieve personal and professional growth and success. Attending NPX events will provide you the answers you need, helping you achieve success in your pharmacy career. We’ll be hosting a special NPX event be on Saturday, April 18 at 5 p.m. at The Social on Park St. This gathering features previous recipients of OPA’s Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award for you to meet and network with. This event is open to conference attendees only.
