HB 53 PHARMACISTS FREEDOM OF ACCESS BILL INTRODUCED

Please help call your legislator's attention to the importance of this bill!

Representative Bryan Williams (R- Akron) has introduced a "Freedom of Access" bill for pharmacists. This legislation, known as House Bill 53, has been assigned to the Ohio House of Representatives Health Committee and we need your help to call your legislator's attention to the importance of this bill. HB 53 will allow pharmacists the right to participate in closed provider panels as long as they are willing to accept the same terms and conditions of the managed care plans.

HB 53 has already begun to receive hearings in the House Health Committee, and your assistance is vital in communicating with state representatives on why they should support this legislation. Please utilize the links provided on the Legislative Info page of the OPA website, to contact your legislators in the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate!

Also, since the bill is currently pending in the House Health Committee, please focus your efforts on your hometown legislators as well as members of the House Health Committee. Phone calls to their offices and/or letters supporting HB 53 are a tremendous addition to the OPA's lobbying effort to obtain support for this bill!
