OPA is proud to offer educational programs to help community pharmacists implement a nicotine use disorder treatment program. The Nicotine Use Disorder (NUD) Certificate Program and the shortened 3-hour program are home studies designed to give pharmacists the expertise to help patients successfully quit smoking or using tobacco. This training is endorsed for training requirements for Ohio’s Pharmacist-led protocol-based dispensing rules. Pharmacists who complete this certificate program will also have the tools, knowledge, and experience to provide treatment services for any nicotine use disorder program across the country.
New OPA has partnered with ODH to create a shortened training program for pharmacists interested in providing simplified Nicotine Replacement Therapy-based training. The program includes 1 hour each of clinical training, workflow transformation tips, and an overview of laws related to NRT dispensing.
