How did you get interested in the profession of pharmacy? I became interested in the profession through my mothers’ best friend who is a pharmacist. She is the one who really got me interested in the profession; however it was my high school chemistry teacher who really guided me into this field. |

Why did you choose OPA as a rotation? I have always had an interest in pharmacy law, and thought that this would be a great opportunity to get a better understanding of this topic. I am also aware that there are so many different opportunities as a pharmacist and I knew that this rotation would open my eyes to the wide variety of practice sites that pharmacists in Ohio can have. I am hoping to leave here with a better understanding of pharmacy law and a greater knowledge of the possibilities that await me after graduation. |

What was the most significant or surprising experience at OPA? I think one of the most significant things for me this month has been writing articles for the Ohio Pharmacist journal. I do not consider myself a good writer and so writing both my article of choice and the member spotlight challenged me. I also thought the Independent SIG meeting was very significant for me as well. I don’t think I realized all that this Association does for the independent pharmacy owners in our state. I was so impressed by the support for this part of our profession and I was very excited about the new and innovative practices at some of these pharmacies. I have always had a love for independent pharmacy and I really enjoyed this meeting. It is so nice to know that if I were to ever venture into independent pharmacy, I would have the support of OPA. |
