How did you get interested in the profession of pharmacy? I always wanted to be in the health care field when I was little.  Pharmacy became my main focus after talking with my uncle, who is a pharmacist, about applying to colleges and everything pharmacy had to offer.

Why did you choose OPA as a rotation? As a student, each year I attended the OPA annual conference and learned about drug updates, Ohio law, and what OPA could offer to students.  When the time came to choose my rotations for the following year, the ability to spend a month working at OPA was the perfect opportunity to see the behind the scenes of this organization.  This month allowed me to see how the pharmacists and employees at the Ohio Pharmacists Association extend beyond their Mission to support their members and advocate for the pharmacy profession.

What was the most significant or surprising experience at OPA? The most significant part of my experience was attending the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, OPA Board, and legislative meetings.  It was encouraging to see how involved pharmacists are in many aspects of the profession.  This experience inspired me to stay involved and has created a lifetime OPA member.

What other pharmacy associations/organizations do you belong to? OPA, ASHP, SSHP
