OPPA member Justin Trevino, MD named assistant medical director at OhioMHAS

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) today announced the appointment of Justin J. Trevino, M.D., as Assistant Medical Director. He joins Medical Director Mark Hurst, M.D. on the cabinet-level agency’s hospital services executive leadership team. Dr. Trevino has worked in the fields of psychiatry and addictions for 25 years, providing service in both clinical and administrative roles. He is licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio and certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Trevino currently serves as chief clinical officer – director of clinical services at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare in Columbus – a position he will continue to hold on a part-time basis. In his new role, Dr. Trevino will split time between the hospital and OhioMHAS’ central office, providing oversight and policy recommendations on everything from hospital safety and electronic health records development to community mental health and addiction treatment services.
