Please send a letter to your State Senator to support P/A reforms!

The Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association (OPPA) is joining forces with the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) to ask physicians to support legislation introduced earlier this year by the OSMA that will make positive reforms to Ohio insurer's prior authorization policies.

As you know, prior authorizations have disrupted the physician-patient relationship and often lead to a delay in diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition. They also cause a significant administrative burden on the physician's practice and result in little to no improvement in the quality of care. This must end.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! The OSMA government relations team is trying to get this legislation passed out of the Ohio Senate by the end of 2015. The OPPA is supporting these efforts. The insurance industry has predictably raised concerns to the bill. Physicians, their patients, and their staff need to let elected officials know how important this legislation is to them.

Please send this letter to your State Senator asking them to SUPPORT SB 129!!
