The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities Foundation has released its latest Developing a Better Understanding one-pager titled, Preventing Suicide in Ohio. In this one-pager, readers will learn that there is no single cause to suicide. Suicide impacts communities across racial, age, socioeconomic, and geographic sectors. The latest figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that in 2013, 1,526 Ohioans died by suicide.
This one-pager provides an overview of suicide risk factors, suicide statistics, as well as promising suicide prevention activities in Ohio that include community suicide prevention coalitions; zero suicide; question, persuade, refer (QPR); and the Ohio Campaign for Hope: Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative.
