As Ohio lawmakers hold "listening" hearings on the topic of whether Ohio should legalize medical marijuana, they are hearing mostly from the proponents who support the measure. OPPA members are encouraged to attend the hearings to educate policymakers about why medical marijuana should not be legalized in Ohio.
As previously reported by the OPPA, both the Ohio Senate and House formed committees earlier this year to hear testimony from interested parties about the highly debatable subject.
During the Ohio Senate committee hearings, OPPA members Jason Jerry, MD submitted written testimony for review by committee members for the hearing held in Cleveland and Jeffrey Goldsmith, MD testified in person at the hearing held in Cincinnati.
Already underway, the Ohio House 15-member task force is holding its hearings, all to be held in Columbus at the Statehouse, on the following Thursdays:
