Your help needed to pass the mental health reform act of 2016!

The House of Representatives passed the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act of 2016 (HR 2646) by an overwhelming majority of 422-2 last month. There is now promising momentum to see this legislation passed into law this year, but your help is needed. With Congress off on its month-long August recess, the APA is urging all OPPA members to contact their US senators in their home offices to encourage them to bring the mental health reform act of 2016 to the floor immediately and vote YES on S 2680.

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio)

Remember, it's always most effective to schedule a face-to-face meeting!

If that's not possible, call their Ohio office and ask to speak to the Senator!

If that's not possible, send a hand-written letter!

If that's not possible, complete the on-line form on their website!
