Ohio's 131st General Assembly - by the numbers wrap up

By the Numbers: Lame Duck

When the House and Senate adjourned in the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 9, they concluded what are expected to be the last regular sessions of the General Assembly. The flurry of activity ended earlier in this session compared to the last, when the House held its last regular session on Dec. 17, 2014, and the Senate finished on Dec. 11, 2014.

34 - Number of bills passed by the Ohio House in lame duck session.

27 - Number of House votes on Senate amendments.

51 - Number of bills passed by the Ohio Senate in lame duck session.

15 - Number of Senate votes on House amendments.

1 - Number of conference committee reports adopted - on HB9 (Boose), to create a Tax Expenditure Review Committee. 

4 - The number of legislators given the opportunity to run session by House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) in the waning hours of the final regular House session – Reps. Christie Kuhns (D-Cincinnati), Denise Driehaus (D-Cincinnati), Margaret Ruhl (R-Mount Vernon) and Nan Baker (R-Westlake). All are leaving the House after this session. Rep. Ron Amstutz (R-Wooster) also filled in for Rosenberger throughout the day’s session.

3:30 a.m. - Time the Ohio House adjourned on its last regular session day.

3:14 a.m. - Time the Ohio Senate adjourned on its last regular session day.

627 - Number of House bills introduced in the 131st General Assembly, compared to 685 in the 130th General Assembly.

375 - Number of Senate bills introduced in the 131st General Assembly, compared to 391 in the 130th General Assembly.

0 – Number of legislative chambers to adjourn sine die for the 131st General Assembly.
