Patrick Kennedy speaks out on suicide prevention

Former Congressman and APA spokesperson Patrick Kennedy conducted a national broadcast and online satellite media tour from Washington, D.C. on September 4-5 in honor of September’s National Suicide Prevention Month.

The tour, which consisted of 24 interviews across television, radio, and digital media outlets, presented an opportunity to showcase APA’s leadership role in fighting the stigma that prevents so many from getting the effective care needed for suicide prevention and recovery from mental illness and substance use disorders.

Broadcast interviews, including MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, aired clips from APA’s new national PSA campaign called “A Healthy Minds Minute.”
