A final rule setting Oct. 1, 2015, as the ICD-10 implementation date has been issued by the CMS. The transition to the new codes is expected to enhance patient care, boost disease management and improve quality measurement and analytics, as well as promote care coordination, CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said.
