Position Description:
The Director of Adult Day Support is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Operations. The Director of Adult Day Support is responsible for the day to day operations of the Adult Day Services, Vocational Habilitation and Transportation services offered by RHA . The Director of Adult Day Support is responsible for the oversight of staff and programming ensuring quality and compassionate service is provided to all participants. The Director of Adult Day Support is responsible for attending ISP meetings and communication with teams for individuals served. This position is also responsible for building community partnerships with organizations in the community that can support RHA in providing community based adult day and vocational habilitation services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates, implements, and monitors the activities, curriculum and outcomes for programs offered through the RHA day services.
- Build community relationships and resources with other providers, businesses and stakeholders that are beneficial to the outcomes for the individuals and RHA.
- Works with support staff to coordinate internal and external resources; makes recommendations, monitors programs and participants, and serves as a model to assist in developing appropriate behavior, appearance and agency/community standards.
- Supervises the performance of Day Support Staff; assists in annual evaluations in conjunction with Director of Operations.
- Provides or arranges for basic health care, including first aid; maintains first aid supplies, insures reporting and documentation of details of illness and client response to medical treatment. Has responsibility for dispensing medications and maintaining medication and health related activity records when needed.
- Assures the maintenance of a safe, secure, clean, and orderly environment; reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.
- Monitors ordering, purchasing and receipt of food and other supplies; maintains a current inventory of program materials as needed.
- Makes recommendations to Director of Operations concerning participant placement or termination.
- Participates in implementation of Day Support budget; responsible for operating within budgetary guidelines; promptly brings budgetary issues to the attention of the Director of Operations; insures maintenance of accurate and complete records of Day Support Program financial income and expenditures.
- Remains informed on Adult Day Support and Vocational Habilitation rules and regulations and other applicable RHA and State requirements to ensure compliance.
- Ensures, at all times, the maintenance of accurate and current ISP files, including ADS, VocHab, NMT and billing documents.
- Monitors staff training needs and informs Program Manager/Trainer to arrange for training as needed; develops training schedules for new employees.
- Submit reports and attends meetings as requested by Program Manager.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as necessary to the operation of the program.
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record as defined in RHA personnel policies.
Requirements:
- This position requires the ability and skill to ensure the implementation of specific programs designed to promote the development and habilitation of participants of RHA Day Programs, including the ability to develop positive relationships with the program participants.
- It requires working knowledge of RHA policies and procedures and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Rules and Regulations established for Adult Day Support, Vocational Habilitation and NMT programs.
- The Supervisor position requires the skills necessary to apply advanced or specialized procedures and techniques related to the provision of services, growth and habilitation of participants as well as the ability to function in a leadership capacity with subordinate staff members.
- She/he must be an excellent record keeper.
- A four-year degree in a related field is preferred; however, appropriate training, work and supervisory experience shall be a consideration as well.
